Modern Mongolia

Modern Mongolia has a lot of tourists due to its close proximity with the Himilaya's. Most of its exports are rare earth metals (copper, gold, coal, tin, adn tungsten).  It is landlocked and extremely arid, in some places turning intoa desert. Most of their non-residential land is used for livestock and very little is forested. The biggest dessert is called the Gobi and it is the fifth largest desert in the world, covering 1.3 million square killiometers. It makes life hard for those living in southern Mongolia, as it prevents them from growing crops and therefore feeding their livestock.
